This can help you to understand the pros and cons of color selection especially if you're in the beginner stage. The early stages of a blog are exciting; you’re creating something from the ground up and it's meant to be a reflection of you as a person. One important thing to remember is to keep your personal/social life apart from your professional background. It's save you a lot of grief from having to worry about who's looking at your page and why. According to Barnett (2010) "Managing your digital footprint, the online trail of data you leave behind, requires constant diligence, but not without benefit: in the end, it strengthens your image" (p. 23). So for personal use; add some images that give the audience an idea of who you are. For instance, movie or album posters and even quotes from artists that resonate in your own little world. For the professional page I would definitely include your educational background and your current place of work with contact info.
