As a benefit, micro
blogs such as Facebook and Twitter are ideal for business entrepreneurs;
especially for those looking to market them outside their state or country.
"According to the latest numbers from comScore, for instance, Twitter.com
attracted 79.4 million unique visitors worldwide in March, 2010, a 316 percent
increase from a year ago" (Schonfeld, 2010). A challenge however is
maintaining a separate identity from their business and professional networks
since anyone can look up an individual by simply searching for them on Google.
Personally I have a Facebook page but per a YouTube channel that I help and
star in some vlogs, I currently have a twitter account for my character's
persona. For the twitter account, I have over 5,000 followers and I only go on
when looking to announce the upload of a video on one of my friend's YouTube
pages. In my opinion, the two are quite time consuming and addictive if someone
is on there for a long period of time but I enjoy the fact that I can
communicate with others by simply sending a message electronically.
